Position Summary

This Expression of Interest is for current 2017 Western Australian Interns wishing to continue at their current employing Health Service (Fiona Stanley Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital OR WA Country Health Service) as a Resident Medical Officer for the 2018 and 2019 clinical years.

If you are a current WA Intern wishing to be considered for an RMO position at a different participating Health Service from the one at which you are currently employed, you must submit an application to the Centralised RMO Application Process. More information is available in the attached RMO Application Guide.

 

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time (hours negotiable – minimum 20hrs per week) Resident Medical Officer (RMO) appointments for the 2018 clinical year.

Contracts will be offered for 24 months.

 

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.

Appointments may be made from this pool until 29 September 2017 for the 2018 and 2019 clinical years commencing 15 January 2018.

 

Participating hospitals and health services include:

• Fiona Stanley Hospital

• Royal Perth Hospital

• Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

• WA Country Health Service

 

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancies, it may also be used to fill other ‘similar’ vacancies throughout the above health services.

In addition to this, should a successful applicant decline or vacate a vacancy, then other applicants appointed to the pool may also be selected from this process.

  • Applicants must be current Interns at one of the participating hospitals or health service
  • Eligible for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia upon successful completion of a 2017 Internship
  • Eligible to work in Australia.

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia. Evidence of valid Australian citizenship, permanent residency, temporary residency (or eligibility to obtain) must be provided prior to commencement.

  • Criminal Record Screening Check;
  • Pre-Employment Integrity Check;
  • Pre-Placement Health Screening Clearance Check; and
