Position Summary

Salary: MP Year 1-2 $191,488 - $200,344 (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation and professional development allowance)

 

  Please note this is for the 2021 Senior Registrar Neonates intake commencing 1 February 2021.

 

  This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 26/10/2020. 

Position Profile: The successful applicants to this position in the Neonatal Department will be required to manage inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients under the supervision of Specialists in the Neonatal Department at the Perinatal Centre - King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH); the surgical centre - Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH); as well as retrieval and transport of sick newborns with the Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS) WA.

Area Profile: The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) treats children from around Western Australia, and is committed to programs that promote lifelong health in children and adolescents. CAHS is made up of Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Perth Children’s Hospital.

The Neonatology Department consist of units based at:

    • PCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site in Nedlands
    • KEMH Perinatal Centre located at King Edward Memorial Hospital site in Subiaco
    • NETS WA 

PCH is a 298-bed hospital providing tertiary-level and key secondary level health services, in inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care settings, to children and adolescents up to 16 years of age. The simulation centre on Level 5 is a world class facility with two purpose-built simulation rooms, one designed as a two-bed in-patient room and the other as an exact replica of a surgical theatre. 

With state of the art technology PCH offers an extensive range of specialist paediatric medical and surgical services supported by our 2,500 strong workforce of doctors, nurses, allied health and health science, diagnostics and medical imaging technologists, support services and research and training areas. PCH is the only dedicated tertiary paediatric hospital in Western Australia and operates under the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) providing services throughout the community within Perth metropolitan area; specialized state wide services; as well as providing support to other hospitals and health services across the state.
