Position Summary

2022 WA Resident Medical Officer (RMO) and Service Medical Registrar (SMR) Centralised Recruitment

 

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full-Time, Fixed Term Part-Time (hours negotiable – availability and minimum working hours may vary by site) RMO and SMR appointments for the 2022 clinical year commencing 17 January 2022 (RMO) and 31 January 2022 (SMR).

Salary: RMO Year 1-3 $101,400 - $ 121,250 or Registrar Year 1-7 $131,299 - $175,977 p.a. pro rata (WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016)

The centralised recruitment process allows applicants to submit ONE application to cover THREE site preferences for employment as an RMO and/or SMR with participating WA health service employers/sites. Applications are accepted through MedJobsWA.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 14 October 2021. Contracts of up to 24 months may be offered with the possibility of extension(s), at the discretion of the participating employer. 

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancies, it may also be used to fill other ‘similar’ vacancies throughout participating employers. In addition, should a successful applicant decline or forfeit an offer, their application will return to the recruitment pool and other suitable applicants can be considered for the vacancy.

***SJGHC includes St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals, St John of God Murdoch Hospital and St John of God Subiaco Hospital. Employment terms and conditions are contained within the St John of God Health Care Enterprise Agreement and may differ from WA Health hospitals.

To be considered for an RMO or SMR position, you must provide evidence you: 

  • Are eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia*;
  • Are eligible to work in Australia. Evidence of valid Australian citizenship, permanent residency, temporary residency (or eligibility to obtain) and/or a relevant visa must be provided prior to commencement; and
  • Have and can demonstrate that you have the qualifications, essential skills and experience required for the position, as described in the job description form, and (separate) application selection criteria.

Application Selection Criteria: 

A key component of the application is to provide a statement addressing the ‘Application Selection Criteria’. This is a separate document from the JDF. Do not sign and submit the JDF as your response as this does not fulfil the requirements of addressing the Application Selection Criteria. 

The application selection criteria outline the skills, qualifications and experience considered necessary to successfully perform the duties of an RMO or SMR.
