WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking ICU Registrars (CICM, Trainee or Service) to join the team in Bunbury Health Campus to commence ASAP.

 

Salary rate:  MP Year 1-7 $139,932 - $186,790 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 11.5% superannuation and professional development allowance)

The intensive care unit at Bunbury Hospital operates in 2 pods totaling up to 8 beds.

The unit admits adult general surgical and medical patients for both intensive care and high dependency care.  It is the only regional ICU in WA, and averages 600-700 patient admissions per year.  The ICU also provides an ICU Outreach Service including MET and Code Blue Response, patient transport and retrieval.

Bunbury ICU is accredited by the College of Intensive Care of Australia and New Zealand for Foundation and Rural training. There are opportunities available for accredited rotation through anaesthetics, paediatrics, general medicine and ED.

Bunbury Hospital is accredited for Australian Medical Council Work-based Assessment (WBA) for eligible applicants, however hospital-based rotations in general medicine, surgery and emergency medicine for full general registration is not a component of this post and there is a considerable application waitlist for the WBA program.

Bunbury Health Campus is a 171-bed hospital that functions as the Regional Resource Centre for the South West region with all major specialties present on site. To be Successful in the Role:

Applicants must hold or be eligible for Registration with the Australian Medical Board, be at least PGY3 level and six months experience in Critical Care Medicine at a registrar level is preferred (Emergency; ICU or Anaesthetics), with a preference for candidates who have experience from Australia or a comparable health system.
