WA Country Health Service, Bunbury Hospital is seeking an Advanced Trainee Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar
for a 12-months Fixed Term Full Time appointment commencing in February 2024,
with the possibility of extension(s).
POSITION PROFILE
Applications are invited for the position of Advanced Trainee Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar within Bunbury Health Campus. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department is a regional hub for obstetrics and gynaecology, delivering around 1100 babies a year and providing a full scope of general gynaecology with 6 specialist O&Gs, core training registrars and RMOs. The department offers an exceptional experience for an advanced trainee interested in generalist O&G on the doorstep of the beautiful south west of WA with excellent schools, world class surfing and mountain biking not to mention the Margaret River region just over an hour away.
This position will require the provision of high quality and patient centered care, including elective and on call commitments, to all Obstetrics and Gynaecology in-patients under the supervision of the supervising Consultant within a multi-disciplinary team. You will provide phone support to the region, and there is regional clinical care roles. In the role, you will work in accordance with the WA Country Health Service core values of Community, Compassion, Quality, Integrity, Equity and Curiosity. The hospital provides training, supervision and education for Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and Interns and you will be the leader of this part of our workforce. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you will work to achieve National, State and WACHS performance standards and the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards and will adhere to the policies and guidelines of the department and participate in quality improvement programs.
The successful applicants will need to be equivalent to the level of advanced trainee in O&G with RANZCOG from Australia or a comparable country. Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

Bunbury Hospital is the Regional Resource Centre for the beautiful South West region of Western Australia. The hospital has 171 acute inpatient beds of which 71 are allocated to General Medicine.
Daily admissions average 14 with additional patients seen for other craft groups.
Bunbury Hospital has a busy Emergency Department, an 8 bed ICU, General Surgical Unit, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urological Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Psychiatric Unit.
Bunbury Hospital continues to grow in size, reputation and sophistication. An extensive campus re-development plan which is currently in design phase, will ensure the hospital continues to attract high quality medical will be developing into a Teaching, Training and Research hub for WACHS.
A co-located private hospital provides Comprehensive Cancer Service, Radiation Therapy, Coronary Care and Angiography, Dialysis and Palliative Care.
The city is family oriented with excellent schools and many sporting and cultural activities for children to choose from.
