Position Summary

Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) 2025 Medical Intake

Registrar – Advanced Trainee – Paediatrics – Refugee Health

 

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time (job-share) appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

 

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/09/2024 


Position Profile: 
The specialty Refugee Health Advanced Trainee will provide comprehensive coordinated outpatient, emergency and inpatient care to paediatric refugee and asylum-seeker patients under the supervision of a Specialist. They may also provide clinical care in the paediatric tuberculosis service and general paediatrics. They will act as a primary point of contact for paediatric refugee health issues at PCH and will assist in the coordination and development of these services, particularly in the field of clinical audit, database and protocol development. They will have a major role in liaising with other relevant specialties and agencies. They will participate in educational activities and research. The Refugee Health Advanced Trainee will also contribute to activities and clinical work within the CAHS Refugee Health Service integration programme including development of specialist substreams and outreach.

Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) treats children from around Western Australia, and is committed to programs that promote lifelong health in children and adolescents. CAHS is made up of Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Perth Children’s Hospital.
