Salary:  MP Year 1-7 $133,571 to $178,656 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 10.5% superannuation and applicable allowances)

POSITION PROFILE

We are keen to welcome to a motivated Medical Administration Registrar (MAR) to our team at Geraldton Hospital! The service is entering an exciting period of growth and transition, with planning well underway for service expansion and redevelopment.

 

The MAR will work with the specialist (FRACMA) Director of Medical Services and Geraldton Hospital to provide professional leadership as well as guidance in relation to strategic and operational projects as required, with a particular focus on clinical governance, accreditation, service development and general medical administration duties.

 

The MAR will be engaged in or progressing towards a supervised training program in medical administration as a Trainee with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA). If participating in the RACMA training program will be supported in developing the required skills needed to become a specialist healthcare medical administrator.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL TO THE ROLE

Applicants must hold General AHPRA Registration, ideally at least PGY4 level and willing to enter into the RACMA specialist training program; with a preference for candidates who have experience from Australia or a comparable health system.

Essential

    1. Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
    2. Demonstrated relevant clinical and procedural experience and/or specialty trainee registration.
    3. Current enrollment in the RACMA specialist training program (or a willingness to enroll if successful applicant to the role).
    4. Demonstrated ability to lead.
    5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
    6. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
    7. Demonstrated self-motivated and awareness of safe clinical practice within own limitations.
    8. Demonstrated understanding of knowledge of culturally appropriate care.

Desirable

    1. Demonstrated participation in continuing medical education.
    2. Knowledge and experience of quality assurance activities.
