The WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2016 (Agreement) provides for the engagement of interns and their subsequent transition to RMO Year 1 and 2, for a fixed term period of three years. All WA interns who commenced under this Agreement (in 2017 or 2018) and who remain employed under this WA Health Agreement, will be entitled to placement as an RMO with WA Health in 2019. Those who remain employed by Fiona Stanley Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital or WA Country Health Service, where they commenced their internship, must either elect to remain employed by their current employing Health Service Provider (HSP), or apply to transfer to another HSP, as part of this annual centralised RMO recruitment process. Remaining with the same HSP or transferring to a new HSP is subject to successful application to a competitive recruitment process in which best efforts will be made to accommodate applicants’ preferences. This includes the operational ability of HSPs to accommodate existing and new employees, which may vary on an annual basis.
