Position Summary |
2023 WA Resident Medical Officer (RMO) and Service Medical Registrar (SMR) Centralised Recruitment
This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full-Time, Fixed Term Part-Time (hours negotiable – minimum hours required to work may vary per site) Resident Medical Officer (RMO) and Service Medical Registrar (SMR) appointments for the 2023 clinical year commencing 16 January 2023 (RMO) and 06 February 2023 (SMR).
Salary: RMO Year 1-3 $101,837 - $121,778 p.a. or Registrar Year 1-7 $131,853 - $176,734 p.a. pro rata which is inclusive of base salary, 10% superannuation and professional development allowance (WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016)
*the salary range may be different if you are employed through Joondalup Health Campus or St John of God Health Care.

The centralised recruitment process allows applicants to submit ONE application to cover THREE site preferences for employment as an RMO and/or SMR with the participating WA health service employers/sites listed below.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until Friday 14 October 2022. Contracts of up to 36 months may be offered with the possibility of extension(s), at the discretion of the participating employer.
Participating hospitals and health services include the following, as well as their general, regional and rural hospital placement sites (refer to the Application Guide for a full list of placement sites):
*Joondalup Health Campus is part of Ramsay Health Care Australia. Employment terms and conditions are contained within the Ramsay Health Care Employment Agreement and may differ from WA Health hospitals.
**St John of God Health Care employment terms and conditions are contained within the St John of God Health Care Enterprise Agreement and may differ from WA Health hospitals.
Eligibility to Apply:
To be considered for an RMO or SMR position, you must provide evidence you:
- Are eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Further information can be found at: https://www.medicalboard.gov.au/Registration.aspx
- Are eligible to work in Australia (Evidence of valid Australian citizenship, permanent residency, temporary residency (or eligibility to obtain) must be provided prior to commencement); and
- have worked for a minimum of 6 months as a registered medical practitioner in an Australian hospital or comparable hospital setting within the last 3 years (listed below).
