Position Summary

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is recruiting for Registrar Paediatric Advanced Trainee appointments in 2023.

 

Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6 and 12 months commencing in February 2023.

 

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/09/2022.

 

Salary:  MP Year 1-7 $131,853 - $176,734 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 10% superannuation and professional development allowance)

Position Profile: The position is accredited for up to 12 months of Advanced Training in General Paediatrics, although applications for 6 months will be considered if necessary. We are seeking an enthusiastic registrar to join our teams in one of six hospitals.

The hospitals sites included within the recruitment process are: 

There is a strong team of consultant paediatricians resident providing close supervision and support in each of our hospitals while also giving opportunities for independent practice.  For further information on specific hospitals, please reference the Training Hospital Information attached in the Job Advertisement.

The positions for all sites except Geraldton and Albany are accredited by the Advanced Training Committee in General Paediatrics of the Royal Australian College of Physicians as General Paediatrics (Rural) with a Perinatal Component.  Albany and Geraldton are accredited for General Paediatrics (Rural) without a Perinatal Component.

Six month terms are accredited as six months General Paediatrics only. 

Dual General Paediatrics/Community Child Health trainees accredited to complete 6 months Community Child Health (Broome only).

Options for accreditation of a 12 month term are:

  • 12 months General Paediatrics
  • 6 months General Paediatrics and 6 months Community/Developmental


Candidates for positions which are funded through the Australian Government Specialist Training Program (STP) must be in Years 1, 2 or 3 of their Advanced Training.  They cannot complete their training until the end of the 
STP funded position.

In this position you will be required to participate in the on call roster.  Current Registrars and Senior Registrars are invited to apply.  Appointment will be made based on skills and experience.
