A unique and exciting opportunity is currently available for a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist for WACHS Pilbara.

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointment for 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).

Position Profile:  

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Consultant – Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who will be responsible for the specialist clinical care of Obstetric and Gynaecological patients attending Hedland Health Campus or Karratha Health Campus as well as specialist clinical services across the region, including Newman, Tom Price, Roebourne and Onslow. Although based in Port Hedalnd or Karratha, this role will offer you the chance to travel across the Pilbara region to beautiful sites such as the Karigini and Millstream Chichester National Parks. As part of this role, you will also be able to provide leadership and deliver excellent clinical performance as well as administrative leadership in combination with the Clinical Nurse Specialist of Maternity. You will be able to participate in policy development and review for clinical governance and work collaboratively with other clinical practitioners.

In this position you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical service to Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients of WA Country Health Service – Pilbara. Promotes patient quality and safety. Provides leadership, training, supervision and education for Medical Interns, Registrars and Health Service Medical Practitioners as required in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Regional Medical Director. A joint academic position with King Edward Memorial Hospital is also possible for a candidate with an academic background or interest. You may be able to combine a rural practice with an academic, tertiary role at this leading teach hospital.
