This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 5 years, at various hours per fortnight to be negotiated with the Manager.

About the Position: In this role you will provide Intensive Care Unit services, including participation in Intensive Care Unit on call roster. You will ensure compliance with ongoing implementation of BSAFE Program in Bunbury Hospital, focusing on timely assessment and treatment of critically sick/deteriorated patients admitted to Bunbury Hospital. You will also be responsible for the provision of sick/deteriorated patients admitted to Bunbury Hospital. You will also be responsible for the provision of clinical leadership of Intensive Care Unit department.

About the Region: Bunbury Hospital is a 171-bed public facility co-located with a similarly sized private hospital St John of God Health Care which forms part of the South West Health Campus. Opened in 1999, it is the biggest hospital and health care complex in regional Western Australia. It delivers health care to more than 80,000 of the region’s local residents as well as visitors.

The South West region is located in the south-west corner of the state, facing the Indian and Southern Oceans. It shares its eastern boundary with Wheatbelt and Great Southern regions. It covers an area of 23,998 sq. km, has 12 local government areas and a diverse geographic profile ranging from rugged coastline and beaches to agricultural landscapes. The economy is based around tourism, mining and construction, retail and agriculture. Bunbury, and the South West of Western Australia are blessed with abundant opportunities for outdoor activities, minimal traffic but still many services as well as unique and extraordinary sights in one of the most beautiful coastal areas of Western Australia.

WACHS is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. 

Attractive Remuneration Package

The salary as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016:

Shown as Fixed Term Full time (80 hours per fortnight).

MP Year 1-9 $361,966 - $460,043 p.a. pro rata*

*Includes Arrangement A base salary $296,757—$385,515 p.a. pro rata, professional development allowance $30,814.p.a. and 10.5% employer contributed superannuation.
