JOB DESCRIPTION:
WA Health Services and Joondalup Health Campus offer three-year contracts, and St John of God Health Care; two years (subject to visa requirements).

To fulfil training requirements, metropolitan based interns can undertake rotations at a variety of metropolitan, rural, or remote sites (see Application Guide for details).

The position will provide successful applicants the opportunity to complete an accredited internship compliant with the general registration requirements of the Medical Board of Australia, as determined by the Australian Medical Council’s (AMC) National Framework for Prevocational (PGY1 and PGY2) Medical Training.

On successful completion of these PGY1 requirements, interns (PGY1s) will be eligible to apply for general registration via the Medical Board of Australia.

All term rotations are accredited by the Postgraduate Medical Council of Western Australia (PMCWA) against approved accreditation standards for intern training and include the above experience.

  4. Evidence of citizenship/residency status (e.g., passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate).
  5. Current or most recent visa (if applicable).
  6. Recent official academic transcript of medical degree (scanned or photo).
  7. Verification of year 12 completion in WA (if applicable - applies to Australian citizens or permanent residents or New Zealand citizens who completed year 12 in WA and are graduating from a non-WA medical school).
  8. Copy of IELTS, OET, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, NZREX or PLAB examination results or other accepted evidence as specified by the Medical Board’s English language skills registration standard (if applicable – refer to the Medical Board of Australia’s English language skills registration standard - medical for further information)
  9. Copy of the AMC Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) exam results (if applicable – refer to the PMCWA Intern Application Guide).
