Position Summary

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking experienced Senior Medical Practitioners - Psychiatry to join the team at Kalgoorlie Hospital. This is a recruitment pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for up to 5 years, with the possibility of extension(s).

We currently have 1 vacant position for immediate start.

 

About the Position

 

In the role of Senior Medical Practitioner – Psychiatry you will:

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Work within scope of practice and all relevant legislative and policy frameworks to provide psychiatric medical assessment and treatment.
  • Work with either Community Mental Health patients or with In-patients at the Acute Psychiatric Unit, Kalgoorlie Hospital including clients resident in the Goldfields Mental Health catchment area, and provide services to the whole region as required in agreement with the Clinical Director and Regional Mental Health Manager.
  • Provide relevant advice to referrers.
  • Participate in the psychiatric on call roster.
  • Supervise other medical staff as required

The salary as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2022:

Shown as Fixed Term Full time (80 hours per fortnight).

 

MP Year 1-3 $332,465 - $353,519, p.a.*

 

*Includes Arrangement A base salary $269,877—$288,931 p.a., professional development allowance $30,996 p.a. and 10.5% employer contributed superannuation.

About the Region

 

The Goldfields-Esperance region is located in the south-eastern corner of Western Australia and is the largest region in the state with a land area of 771,276 square kilometres.
