Position Summary

Hospital Site: Bunbury, WA

 

This is a Recruitment Pool for 2024 Fixed Term Full Time and Part Time appointments for 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months, with the possibility of extension(s).

 

 Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/08/2024.

 

POSITION PROFILE

If you have an interest in providing anaesthetics as part of your rural or remote medical practice, then this post will provide experience and training requirements that enable the successful candidate to become an accredited GP Anaesthetist (DRGA certification). 

The Department of Anaesthesia at Bunbury Health Campus is a small but busy operating department with the highest throughput per theatre of any public hospital in WA, offering high quality anaesthetic experience across a full range of district hospital specialties including obstetrics and paediatrics. 

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to rural or remote medicine. You will work alongside 10 Consultants and 2 Registrars and there is ample opportunity to gain good quality and quantity of anaesthetic volume of practice.  To go along with this, the successful applicant needs to be well motivated, organised and adaptable to working in a flexible role.

Bunbury Health Campus is an excellent environment to advance your medical career. The hospital is accredited for DRGA and FANZCA training.

The Hospital has a busy Emergency Department, an 8 bed ICU, General Surgical Unit, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urological Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Psychiatric Unit. 

Bunbury Hospital continues to grow in size, reputation and sophistication. An extensive campus re-development plan which is currently in design phase, will ensure the hospital continues to attract high quality medical will be developing into a Teaching, Training and Research hub for WACHS.

A co-located private hospital provides Comprehensive Cancer Service, Radiation Therapy, Coronary Care and Angiography, Dialysis and Palliative Care.
