Position Summary

Salary: MP Year 1-2 $191,488 - $200,344 p.a. pro rata (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation, and professional development allowance)

 

Please note this is for the 2019 Fellow Plastic Surgery mid-year intake commencing 5 August 2019. 

 

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 20/02/2019. 

 

Position Profile: The position is in an exciting department with a vision to be a renowned academic plastic & reconstructive surgery centre. The fellow will develop experience in all aspects of hand surgery, Head & Neck surgery, breast surgery, lower limb surgery & skin cancer surgery & management. Chronic wound care is also an area of the department’s interest & expertise. The department is an integral part of the FSH breast cancer MDT, Head & Neck MDT & its own Skin cancer MDT. The fellow will be expected to teach & conduct research.  The supervision of the trainees is a critical role for the fellow as we transition into a full teaching/training outfit from February 2019.

Successful applicants will be based at Fiona Stanley Hospital and may be required to work at Fremantle Hospital and Rockingham General Hospital.

 

Area Profile: Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

 

Area Profile: Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.

 

Area Profile: Rockingham Peel Group is part of the South Metropolitan Health Service, one of the fastest growing health services in Western Australia and comprises two hospital campuses, Rockingham General Hospital and Murray District Hospital, in addition to community and mental health services across Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana. As the flagship hospital, Rockingham General is focused on providing high quality general medical, surgical and mental health services as well as outpatient care.

 

Murray District Hospital offers inpatient medical services, palliative care and allied health services.
