POSITION PROFILE
An exciting opportunity is available for Service and Advanced Trainee Registrars in General Medicine to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinicians providing comprehensive medical services to the patients of Geraldton Health Campus.
Currently there is full time positions available for an immediate start – These positions will provide a broad level of medical experience for Junior Doctors including those intending to enter basic physician training program.
Geraldton Hospital has been accredited by the RACP as a Level 1 Teaching Hospital and is accredited for one year training for Basic Physician Training program in adult general medicine but is not part of official metro BPT Training program. Medical Registrars have the opportunity to have their one-year service time at Geraldton to be accredited toward their BPT programs subject to the prospective RACP approval (further information can be obtained from Geraldton hospital’s Director of Physician Education Dr M.N. Richi).
There is currently one available position as Advanced Trainee in General Medicine at Geraldton Regional hospital. Geraldton Regional Hospital is accredited by the RACP for one year Advanced Training in Adult General Medicine which is not part of official Metro Advanced Training program but can be considered, subject to the prospective approval of the RACP, to be accredited toward their AT training program. This position is also suitable for OTP candidates requiring twelve months peers review recommended by the RACP (further information can be obtained from Dr M.N. Richi, Director of Physician Education).
Geraldton Hospital has four medical teams, each managed by an FRACP fellow consultant, registrar and junior doctors. Teams are responsible for inpatient and outpatient medical care including: High Dependency Unit, Hospital in the Home, Renal Dialysis and Oncology services. In addition, medical teams provide a high level of support to complex surgical and orthopaedic inpatients and other services. Roster commitments are rotational to cover 24/7 medical service.
